Over 800 years ago, a merchant vessel sailed from Quanzhou Port towards the Indian Ocean but met its end off Guangdong. Discovered in 1987, the sunken ship, named “Nanhai One”, holds clues to China's historical maritime development and the prosperity of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. Archaeologists excavating the shipwreck are not only piecing together the past but also gaining insights into the nation’s confidence and vision as it ventured into uncharted waters.
