HONG KONG – A fire broke out at a commercial building’s scaffolding in Hong Kong’s Central business district on Saturday afternoon, leaving four persons injured.
The blaze, which originated at 4:24 pm at a rear lane of Chinachem Tower on Connaught Road Central, was upgraded to No 3 alarm at 4:36 pm, according to a government announcement.
It was put under control at about 7 pm and largely put out at 9:13 pm.

Four persons were injured or felt unwell and were sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment, while 58 persons evacuated to safety.
Plumes of thick smoke were seen billowing from the fire scene. Firemen used four jets and mobilized four breathing apparatus teams to douse the fire.
