Shenzhen's annual bougainvillea (簕杜鹃) flower show opened over the weekend, dazzling visitors with their vibrant colors and dense clusters.
The event showcases a total of 320 varieties of bougainvillea, an evergreen plant native to South America, known for its use as a hedge or ground cover, according to reports from Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.
This past weekend, an estimated 200,000 people visited Lianhuashan Park (莲花山公园), the main venue for the popular flower show. The Brazil Bougainvillea Valley Park (簕杜鹃谷公园) in Bao’an District and Pingshan Central Park (坪山中央公园) in Pingshan District are also hosting parts of the exhibition.
In Lianhuashan Park, a coffee festival is also held alongside the flower show, allowing visitors to enjoy beverages and snacks.
