Chinese premier congratulates Sonko on assuming Senegal's premiership

BEIJING — Chinese Premier Li Qiang has congratulated Ousmane Sonko on assuming Senegal's premiership.

In his congratulatory message dated Wednesday, Li said China and Senegal are friends and partners on the path to development and revitalization.

Sincere friendship, win-win cooperation and benefits for the people are the common pursuit and distinctive features of bilateral relations and cooperation, he said.

Li voiced readiness to work with Sonko to push for new achievements in bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

As the co-chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), China is keen on sincere cooperation with Senegal to jointly build the forum mechanism and ensure the success of the FOCAC summit to be held in September this year, so as to make new contributions to carrying forward the China-Africa solidarity and friendship, Li said.
