The Hong Kong Police College hosted its open day on Saturday, kicking off a citywide campaign for the first National Security Education Day in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region since the Safeguarding National Security Bill was passed.

At the college in Wong Chuk Hang, hundreds of people from different walks of life, including senior officials like Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, and Zheng Yanxiong, head of the central government’s liaison office in the SAR, took part in the event.

A series of activities will be held in the 18 districts across the territories to observe National Security Education Day on April 15, such as flag-raising ceremonies, open days of disciplined and auxiliary services, and seminars, according to the SAR government.
