MANILA — New Chinese envoy to the Philippines has vowed to "work wholeheartedly to promote China-Philippine friendship and cooperation" during his tour of duty in the Philippines.
Huang Xilian said in his remarks upon his arrival here on Tuesday that he looks forward "to working together with my colleagues and friends to continuously advance the China-Philippines relationship of comprehensive strategic cooperation."

The ambassador said he feels "extremely honored" to serve as the Chinese ambassador to the Philippines when the relations between the two countries enjoy a fresh golden age.
"I feel back at home the moment I set foot in the Philippines," Huang said.
Huang said the good relations between the two countries in recent years have been generating "more and more tangible benefits for the people, and brought about a closer China-Philippines community of shared future."
"Good neighbors are a blessing. China and the Philippines enjoy a time honored friendship deeply rooted among the two peoples," he said.
