HONG KONG - Hong Kong residents took part in a peaceful rally on Saturday to express their gratitude to the city's police and call for an end to violent protests in the financial center.

The "Safeguard Hong Kong" rally, sponsored by more than 70 community leaders, aimed to express public support for law and order, which was violated during recent protests against the now-suspended extradition bill.
