HONG KONG - Hong Kong has been exercising a high degree of autonomy and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong" in strict accordance with the Basic Law, showing the "one country, two systems" principle has been fully and successfully implemented in the city, said the Hong Kong government.
The government made the statement on Thursday in response to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office's Six-monthly Report on Hong Kong.
The statement stated that the full and successful implementation of the "one country, two systems" principle has been widely recognized by the international community.
Foreign governments should not interfere in Hong Kong's internal affairs, it added.
