HONG KONG — M+ Museum in the West Kowloon Cultural District announced on Wednesday that CHANEL has decided to extend their partnership for three more years, becoming a “Lead Partner” of the contemporary visual culture museum.

The expanded collaboration builds on an initial three-year partnership established in 2023 that focused on moving-image programming and restoration.

CHANEL’s new support includes the creation of Pioneering Visions, a series exploring artists and makers reshaping art and global visual culture, with an emphasis on voices from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and Asia.

Presented across multiple formats, the initiative comprises exhibitions, public events, and creative activations of the M+ Collections.

It includes Sarah Sze’s solo presentation Centrifuge at the M+ Focus Gallery in February 2027, a new digital hub on the M+ website, and public talks, screenings, and workshops.

“Our three years of collaboration with CHANEL have significantly advanced the collection, preservation, research, and public programming of moving images at M+,” said Suhanya Raffel, museum director of M+.

Yana Peel, president of Arts, Culture and Heritage at CHANEL, said M+ “is so much more than a museum: it is the epicenter for dialogue within Asia and between Asia and the world.”

Doryun Chong, artistic director and chief curator at M+, said the series “invites audiences to engage more deeply with artistic visions that offer other potential perspectives on the world than conventional narratives.”

The new digital hub dedicated to Pioneering Visions is now live on the M+ website.
