HONG KONG – CLP Power has confirmed that electricity has been fully restored to all affected customers following a pre-dawn underground cable fault in Yuen Long on Tuesday.
Restoration was completed at 10:45 am, approximately 45 minutes later than the company’s initial estimate.
The fault, which occurred at around 4 am, left approximately 2,400 residents in Shui Pui Wai Estate and surrounding areas without electricity.
During the outage, lifts were rendered inoperable, forcing residents to use the stairs to go to work. Many took to social media to complain about the heat, saying they were “almost dying from the heat” without fans or air conditioning.
