BEIJING – China urges the Philippines to cease its acts of infringements and provocations at sea, and inflammatory publicity and hype, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks while answering a relevant question at a regular news briefing.

Lin said that Huangyan Dao is an inherent territory of China, and China has indisputable sovereignty over Huangyan Dao and its adjacent waters.

China has the legitimate rights of a sovereign state to carry out any activities, including scientific research, at Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea, he said.
