China warns of countermeasures over US tariff threat

Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that China will take resolute countermeasures if the United States insists on using fabricated reports alleging Chinese military support for Iran as a pretext to impose additional tariffs on China.

Guo said China had already made its position clear and reiterated that it has always adopted a prudent and responsible approach to military exports.

He said China exercises strict control over military exports in accordance with its export control laws and regulations as well as its international obligations, adding that the reports in question are entirely fabricated.
