BEIJING -- The international community needs to stay on high alert against the rightward turn of Japan's Self-Defense Forces (SDF) and the trend of remilitarization in Japan, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said here on Tuesday.

The ministry's spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a query. According to media reports, an SDF officer who had broken into the Chinese embassy carrying a knife has been sent to prosecutors by Japanese police.
