
HANOI - The Vietnamese government has approved a plan to introduce time-limited visa exemptions for foreign nationals eligible for special incentives due to their contributions to socio-economic development, Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.
Eligible individuals include scholars, experts, scientists and professors from universities and research institutes, as well as chief engineers and other high-quality personnel in the digital technology industry.

Investors, corporate leaders and executives of major global enterprises are also among those covered.
The Ministry of Public Security has been tasked with proposing to the government the criteria and a list of research institutes, colleges, universities and major enterprises authorized to invite foreign nationals eligible for such incentives.
