Hong Kong residents woke up to a chilly morning on Wednesday as temperatures dropped due to an intense winter monsoon.

The Hong Kong Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 14.9 degrees Celsius while the cold weather warning remained in force.

The HKO said the minimum temperature in the city could drop further to 11C on Thursday and 12C on Friday.
