Hong Kong residents woke up to a chilly morning on Wednesday as the minimum temperature recorded at the city’s observatory fell to 10.9 degrees Celsius, the lowest so far this winter.
As of 7 am, Hong Kong’s highest peak Tai Mo Shan saw the lowest temperature of 0.9°C, followed by 4.2°C in Ngong Ping, 5.1°C in Tate’s Cairn and 7.4°C at the Peak.
The minimum temperature in Hong Kong will be around 10 to 11 degrees in the urban areas, and a few degrees lower in the New Territories, the Hong Kong Observatory said on early Wednesday.

It will be fine and very dry during the day with a maximum temperature of around 17°C, as both cold weather and red fire danger warnings were in force, according to the HKO.
Under the persistent influence of the winter monsoon, it will be cold in the morning from Wednesday to Friday, according to the weather forecaster.
