Sun Yingsha out, Doo Hoi-kem in for WTT Champions Doha

BEIJING - Women's singles world No 1 Sun Yingsha of China has withdrawn from the 2026 World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Doha tournament and will be replaced by Doo Hoi-kem of Hong Kong, China, the WTT announced on Monday.

Sun withdrew from the women's singles semifinal against teammate Kuai Man due to discomfort at the WTT Finals earlier this month, and was absent from the 2025 China Table Tennis Super League Finals which concluded on Sunday.

Sun has remained as the year-end world No 1 for four consecutive years.

Following Sun's withdrawal, China's lineup for the Doha event from Jan 7 to 11 now features Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Kuai Man, Wang Yidi and Chen Yi in the women's singles, and Lin Shidong, Liang Jingkun, Xiang Peng and Chen Yuanyu in the men's singles.
