PHNOM PENH/CHANTHABURI, Thailand - Cambodia confirmed on Saturday that it has signed a joint statement with Thailand on an immediate ceasefire, which will be effective from 12:00 pm local time on Saturday, the state-run National Television of Cambodia (TVK) reported.

Thai Defense Minister Natthapon Nakpanich and Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tea Seiha earlier on Saturday signed an agreement on ceasefire at a border checkpoint in Thailand's Chanthaburi province.
