MADRID - La Liga prepares for another international break which will give some clubs a chance to rest and perhaps others the chance to make important changes. Here are some things to look out for this weekend in Spain.

1. Return for Trent?

Trent Alexander Arnold only played the last 10 minutes on Tuesday as his return to Liverpool was spoiled by a 1-0 defeat at Anfield and the boos of the home fans every time he touched the ball against his former club.

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso was reluctant to use Alexander Arnold away from home before the full back got injured, but with Dani Carvajal out after another knee injury and the Real Madrid midfield crying out for the return of Fede Valverde, he could be tempted to give the chance away to Rayo Vallecano.

Although Rayo's left-sided forward, Alvaro Rodriguez is a threat, Alexander Arnold's ability to deliver precise set-pieces could be a big factor in the tight Vallecas Stadium than that could give Trent his chance.

2. Jutgla a big threat to leaky Barcelona

Celta Vigo's season has got into gear with four consecutive wins in La Liga and in Europe ahead of FC Barcelona's visit to the Balaidos Stadium on Sunday and the team from the north-west of Spain will be a big threat to FC Barcelona's defense.

Barca coach Hansi Flick has made it clear he won't change his high defensive line, even after Club Brugge found gaping holes in its back four time and again in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Celta's attack will be led by former Barcelona striker Ferran Jutgla, who has started to show why he did so well in three seasons with Bruges, while Borja Iglesias and Iago Aspas have power and guile to make it another difficult night for Barcelona.

3. Tension in Bilbao

Athletic Club Bilbao has had a miserable month since the last international break, with only one point from three league games and a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday night, and coach Ernesto Valverde's options are limited by injuries to nine first team players.

He should have Gorka Guruzeta and Yuri Berchiche back to receive the visit of second from bottom Oviedo at the San Mames Stadium on Sunday lunchtime in what is being billed as a 'final' in Bilbao.

With or without players such as Oihan Sancet and the Williams brothers, Athletic needs its team to show the intensity it produced last season and which has been missing this time around.

4. Dangerous time for struggling coaches

The weekend before an international break is a bad time to lose if your team is at the wrong end of the table and several coaches could find themselves out of a job with another defeat.

Michel Sanchez at Girona, Jagoba Arrasate at Mallorca, Carlos Corberan at Valencia and perhaps even Matias Almeyda at Sevilla all need a win if they want to avoid a difficult fortnight.
