LOS ANGELES - US private space company SpaceX has deactivated over 2,500 Starlink internet terminals believed to be used in suspected "scam centers" in Myanmar, according to a senior company executive.

Lauren Dreyer, vice-president of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, said Tuesday on X that the company complies with local laws in more than 150 markets where Starlink is licensed to operate.

SpaceX continuously monitors for violations of its Acceptable Use Policy and applicable laws, recognizing that technologies with broad benefits can also be misused, she noted.
