A delegation from the Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) office is visiting the United Kingdom to promote the special administrative region as an international hub for high-caliber talent.

Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare Andrew Tsang Yue-tung led an HKTE delegation to London from Oct 8 to 12, together with professionals from the engineering, finance and accounting sectors in Hong Kong.

They engaged with representatives from four universities in the world's top 100—Imperial College London, King's College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Oxford.

"In the future, we will continue to run promotions in key regions worldwide to attract international talent to relocate to Hong Kong,” said a spokesperson for HKTE, which provides support to incoming talent and formulates talent attraction strategies for the SAR.

“We are also actively preparing for the Global Talent Summit Week to be held in March next year, highlighting Hong Kong's advantages as an international talent hub and the country's gateway for talent."

Events were organized at the four universities to highlight Hong Kong's advantages and opportunities, introduce various talent attraction measures, and feature professionals sharing insights on industry development to attract local talent to the SAR.

HKTE will also visit Switzerland in late October, together with representatives from five hospitality groups under the Hong Kong Hotels Association and from the Hong Kong Jockey Club to participate in recruitment events organized by renowned hospitality management schools and work with enterprises to promote the SAR's opportunities and attract talent.
