As the 15th National Games and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities draw near, Guangzhou is brimming with excitement, especially with the cheerful presence of the official mascots of the events, “Xi Yangyang” and “Le Rongrong.”

Across the city, themed installations featuring the mascots have sprung up in iconic landmarks and neighborhood corners, adding a festive atmosphere to the preparations.

Inspired by the Chinese white dolphin, a Grade-1 nationally protected species, these mascots embody the spirit of joy, harmony, and unity through their design and meaningful names.

Co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the National Games and the Para Games will be held this year from Nov 9 to 21 and Dec 8 to 15, respectively.
