BEIRUT - Lebanese security authorities announced Friday that they have dismantled a spy network operating on behalf of Israel, which was reportedly planning bombings and assassinations within the country.

Several individuals connected to the network have been arrested following a series of security operations, according to the official National News Agency (NNA).

Investigations revealed that the network was responsible for previous assassinations targeting officials of the Islamic Group party.

Security forces conducted coordinated raids across multiple regions in Lebanon, supported by the Lebanese army and military intelligence, according to the NNA. During these operations, authorities seized vehicles, equipment, and other materials used by the network.

Among those arrested were a Lebanese-Brazilian national and individuals of Lebanese and Palestinian nationality, said the report.
