China welcomes and supports all efforts conducive to easing tensions between Palestine and Israel, a representative from the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday following the United States unveiling a 20-point plan to end the conflict in Gaza.

"China calls on the relevant parties to earnestly implement United Nations resolutions, immediately achieve a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, release all detained individuals, and swiftly alleviate the local humanitarian disaster," Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told a regular press briefing on Tuesday.

Guo said that China advocates for adhering to the principle of "the Palestinians governing Palestine" and promoting the implementation of the two-state solution.

China is willing to work with the international community to make unremitting efforts for an early, comprehensive, just, and lasting resolution to the Palestinian issue, he added.
