Over 1,100 students, teachers, and community members participated in a free open rehearsal of Azure After the Rain, a dance drama based on the life of the renowned Song dynasty poetess Li Qingzhao, in Hong Kong on Friday .
The official performance will start on Friday evening and run through Saturday at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s Grand Theatre.
A production by the Shanghai Dance Theatre, the dance drama showcases Li's romantic world from a modern and refreshing perspective. It aims to promote traditional Chinese culture through her unwavering pursuit of cultural inheritance and noble spirit.
The program is part of the Chinese Culture Festival 2025 and contributes to the 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival.
