LONDON - Dominik Szoboszlai scored a stunning late free kick as Liverpool beat Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield in the Premier League to give Arne Slot's side a boost ahead of the international break.

The Hungary international midfielder produced his unstoppable shot in the 83rd minute to decide an even game between last season's top two sides, and ensure his side starts the season with three wins from three games.

Manchester City suffered back-to-back defeats after Brighton came from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Amex.

Erling Haaland had put City ahead with his 88th goal for the club on his 100th appearance, but Matheus Nunes' handball allowed ex-City veteran James Milner to level from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, and Brajan Gruda came off the bench to score an 89th-minute goal to give Brighton its first win of the season.

Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and new signing Callum Wilson all scored in the last six minutes to give West Ham a 3-0 win away to Nottingham Forest.

On Saturday, Chelsea won a controversial game 2-0 at home to Fulham, who fumed at a VAR decision to disallow what would have been an opening goal, before Joao Pedro's goal deep into first-half stoppage time and Enzo Fernandez's 56th-minute penalty tilted the game Chelsea's way.

Bruno Fernandes' 97th-minute penalty saw Manchester United to a 3-2 home win over Burnley, who had twice come from behind.

Josh Cullen's own goal put United ahead while Bryan Mbeumo scored their second, but Lyle Foster and Jaidon Anthony took advantage of some poor goalkeeping to score for the visitors, who were just seconds away from further increasing the pressure on United coach Ruben Amorim.

Evanilson's fifth-minute goal saw Bournemouth win 1-0 away to Tottenham, ending Spurs' unbeaten start to the campaign, while Leeds United and Newcastle United played out a 0-0 draw.

Enzo Le Fee's 82nd-minute penalty and Wilson Isidor's 96th-minute winner saw Sunderland come back from Igor Thiago's opener in the 77th minute for Brentford and claim the Black Cats' second win of the season.
