SYDNEY - Pro-Palestinian demonstrations were held across Australia on Sunday, with organizers claiming crowd numbers to be in the tens of thousands.
Organized by the Palestine Action Group, the national rallies follow a recent demonstration in Sydney that attracted tens of thousands of protesters and shut down the Harbor Bridge.

People swarmed the streets of the Melbourne CBD on Sunday, with the crowd estimated at 100,000 people, according to organizers.
Bruce McPhate, who participated in the demonstration in Melbourne, said what drove him to participate in the rally was the impact of the Gaza war on children.
"Anywhere else in the world it's never been acceptable, and I just felt I needed to come here today to make that point," he said.
Thousands of people gathered for the rally in Sydney, which began with speeches at Hyde Park, followed by a march to Belmore Park.
About 2,000 people gathered in Civic Square in Canberra for what was described as a "largely peaceful" protest.

Thousands of protesters marched through the streets of Hobart.
Tens of thousands gathered in the Perth city center to show their support for the Palestinian people. Organizers estimated about 25,000 people marched.
In Adelaide, thousands of protesters gathered outside Parliament House for the March for Palestine.
