Three people were killed and three others remain missing after heavy rainfall hit several banners and districts in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, local authorities confirmed on Tuesday, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The torrential rain, which began on Monday afternoon and continued into early Tuesday morning, brought precipitation of up to 214 millimeters. The downpour claimed the lives of three individuals, who were found dead in accumulated floodwaters. As of noon on Tuesday, three individuals remain missing in Dalate banner.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
On Tuesday, the Inner Mongolia Meteorological Station warned on its website of frequent rainfall and shifting centers of intense precipitation over the next three days.
From Tuesday to Thursday, moderate to heavy rain is expected in regions from Hetao to eastern areas, with localized heavy downpours and severe convective weather, including short-term heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail.

Authorities urge caution against secondary disasters such as flash floods, river flooding, and urban waterlogging. The public is advised to avoid areas prone to geological hazards and to refrain from camping overnight in riverbeds and similar locations.
