Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the year-long celebration “The Most Magical Party of All!”, filled with exciting party dances and music, and is extending the party vibes to the community! The resort is donating more than HK$2.5 million to support youth development in Hong Kong. This includes a collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) to launch the “Hong Kong Disneyland Dance-Off Party” for the first time, a competition that starts online and culminates on the magical Tomorrowland stage!

The “Hong Kong Disneyland Dance-Off Party” is a three-part competition challenging participants' dance skills and creativity. Youth aged 16-24 are invited to form teams of two to eight members. Registration is open from now until August 24. (Registration link: bit.ly/ddop25en)

Participants need to register online and then record and submit a one-minute dance video showcasing their skills. Following online screening and preliminary rounds, the top six teams will advance to the finale on October 18 at HKDL, performing on the Tomorrowland stage with 20th anniversary themed elements.

Testing both the participants’ dancing skills and their creativity and storytelling abilities, teams who advance to the grand finale must choreograph unique dance moves to one HKDL 20th anniversary original theme song and one self-selected song, further elevating the party atmosphere of the celebration.

Each finalist team will receive a HK$6,000 choreography fund. The champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up teams will be awarded cash prizes of HK$8,000, HK$4,000, and HK$2,000, respectively, along with trophies and park tickets to HKDL. A "The Most Magical Party Spirit Award" will also be presented, including a HK$2,000 cash prize and a trophy.

Igniting your Passion for Dance: Experience the Magic of the 20th Anniversary Party

In addition to the exciting Dance-Off Party, HKDL also hosted an event for younger dancers on Aug 18. About 120 local and ethnic minority children aged 8-12, from the HKFYG, the Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA), and the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong, along with their families, participated in the “Hong Kong Disneyland Magical Junior Dance Party” at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.

This fun-filled dance workshop was coached by professional performers from HKDL’s entertainment team. They taught the children the parade dance moves to the HKDL 20th anniversary original theme songs, "I Got You" and "Friends Forever," inspired their love for dance. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse made a surprise appearance to interact with the young dancers in the workshop, adding to the excitement!

Nine-year-old Eagle Man from the BGCA was excited to participate in the workshop. He said, 'Because I am always energetic and have always been passionate about dancing, I even wore a Donald Duck T-shirt to learn the 20th anniversary dance moves. Another Disney character I love is Woody, so I especially enjoyed the Toy Story-themed dance sharing session. It was an unforgettable experience!’

Additionally, HKDL will sponsor the three organizations mentioned above to host ongoing dance training workshops, offering free dance lessons to underprivileged children and youth. The resort will also fund the HKFYG to renovate a Youth S.P.O.T in Tin Yiu, Tin Shui Wai, setting up a professional dance studio for youth training.

Furthermore, the resort is donating an additional 200,000 park tickets to non-profit organizations and has received over 500 applications. Many beneficiaries have already received their tickets to participate in The Most Magical Party of All!
