KABUL - The Afghan interim government is getting ready to celebrate its victory day against the US-led military troops' falling on Aug 15, which paved the way for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan four years ago.

All the main roads, including the one linking the Kabul International Airport to the emptied US embassy, have been decorated with the white flags of the administration on Thursday.

Moreover, the walls of some state-owned buildings and traffic circles have been inscribed with the slogans "Afghans defeated the invaders."

The Afghan interim government took over power on Aug 15, 2021, and the last US soldier left Afghanistan on Aug 31 of the same year.

Since the defeat and pullout of the US-led troops from Afghanistan, the Afghan interim government has marked the day Aug 15 as "Victory Day".
