The Hong Kong Observatory has cancelled the amber rainstorm warning signal while reminding members of the public to stay alert to the danger that may be brought about by river floods.
The observatory dropped the amber rainstorm signal at 12:30 pm after raising it just before lunctime. The HKO earlier hoisted the amber rainstorm warning at 5:45 am but also canceled it two hours later.
Thunderstorm warning
A thunderstorm warning issued at 6:45 pm on Saturday remained in place and was extended until 2 pm Sunday. The observatory urged those staying outdoors to seek shelter and avoid standing on high ground.
