JAKARTA - Indonesia's South Sumatra provincial government has declared an emergency alert status for haze-related disasters caused by forest and land fires ahead of the 2025 dry season.
The decision was made based on a forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which predicts the dry season will arrive earlier, around mid-June.
