A new competition for secondary school students was announced today, encouraging them to delve into the history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The "I Love My Motherland · Victory in the War of Resistance" Hong Kong Inter-School Composition and Putonghua Recitation Competition was unveiled to mark the 80th anniversary of the war's conclusion.

The event is a collaborative effort by several prominent organizations, including the Federation of Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community Organizations, the Chuang Shih Ping Foundation, the Chan Wai Nam Foundation, and Hong Kong Art.

The primary goal of the competition is to deepen the understanding of the War of Resistance among Hong Kong's youth. Through original written compositions and Putonghua recitations, students will have the opportunity to explore this significant historical period, reflect on the value of peace, and examine the specific role Hong Kong played during the war.

Organizers stated that the competition is designed not only as a historical reflection but also as a means to foster a stronger sense of national identity. Furthermore, the event aims to encourage the younger generation to actively participate in the future development of the Greater Bay Area.
