HANOI - The Vietnamese National Assembly on Monday passed a resolution amending and supplementing several articles of the 2013 Constitution, Vietnam News Agency reported.
Under the resolution, all district-level administrative units across the country will cease operations starting July 1.
Vietnam will implement a two-tier local administrative system comprising provinces and centrally governed cities, along with administrative units under these provinces and cities.

The resolution also introduced new provisions regarding the roles of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other socio-political organizations.
According to the National Assembly, a public consultation on the constitutional amendments, held from May 6 to June 5, received more than 280 million responses.
