BALI, Indonesia - Approximately 1,500 runners from around the world participated in the “Monkey Forest Ubud Run 2025” on Sunday, traversing through tropical forests and rice fields in Bali, Indonesia. This year’s event carried the theme “Run, Forest Run”.
Organized by Monkey Forest Ubud and sponsored by China Daily, the RVi Group, and other partners, this year’s races were divided into two categories: 5 km and the newly introduced 10-km races.
The event was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of exercise and healthy living, while promoting Monkey Forest Ubud as an ideal location for outdoor sports activities. This running event was part of China Daily’s “Run With History”series, which has organized races at UNESCO World Heritage Sites across Asia , including Myanmar, Thailand and Laos, to promote cultural appreciation through sports.
Additionally, as this year marks the 75th anniversary of Sino-Indonesian diplomatic relations, a special photo spot was set up at the starting point to commemorate this historic milestone. The Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar was invited to participate in the event.
