BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.02 percent to 3,339.93 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.26 percent lower at 10,003.27 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.01 trillion yuan (about $140 billion), up from 998.9 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to the unmanned logistics vehicles and new consumption led the gains, while those in the sectors of e-commerce and chemical materials were among the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.31 percent to close at 1,985.38 points on Wednesday.
