Shenzhen is pulling out all stops to develop AI as it is thought that the advanced technology will reshape numerous industries and become a new driver of economic growth.

According to official statistics, the city is home to over 2,600 AI-related enterprises. Liu Yong, deputy head of the electronic information division of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, said the city’s AI end device sector is strong in innovation and highly internationalized.

Value-added of the city’s intelligent end device industry reached 204.6 billion yuan ($28.36 billion) in 2024, growing 9.9 percent year-on-year.
