SYDNEY - Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in Sydney Harbor.
Emergency services were called to reports that a person had been seen in the water shortly before 11:30 pm on Monday near the inner-city suburb of Woolloomooloo on the harbor's southern shore, about 1.5 km from the Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House.

Police officers arrived to find the body of a woman floating in the harbor. She was retrieved with the assistance of the water police and was declared deceased at the scene.

She has not been formally identified but is believed to be in her 20s.
Local media reported that police will prepare a report on her death for the state coroner.
