HONG KONG – Global investors and technology practitioners will gather in Hong Kong to explore investment opportunities and discuss the latest trends in the country’s capital market with SuperReturn China set to be held on May 6.
More than 250 senior global attendees are expected to participate in the private equity gathering, where key discussions will cover artificial intelligence investing, deep tech, venture capital, and the energy transition.
Organized by Informa Markets, SuperReturn China is in Hong Kong for the first time this year. At the beginning of 2025, Hong Kong’s Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau emphasized that financial events hosted in the city play a crucial role in fostering international cooperation and capital flow.
Auto trends
Auto enthusiasts will have the opportunity to explore the latest trends in the car market and choose their ideal vehicles at the South China International Auto Show, which kicked off in Guangzhou on May 1.
The four-day event features nearly 100 car brands, showcasing more than 600 vehicle models. The lineup includes pure electric, hybrid, and fuel-powered vehicles, with prices ranging from 30,000 to 200,000 yuan.
To address concerns about weaker consumer demand in the automotive market, automakers participating in the show are hosting a series of promotional activities, including on-site sign-in gifts, trade-in incentive packages, and installment loan options with low down payments and interest rates.
Cutting-edge sci-tech museum
The Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, situated at the heart of Guangming Science City, opened to the public on Thursday, offering a unique fusion of science, technology, art, and culture through an interdisciplinary approach, “exhibition cluster” concept and thematic exhibition design.
Spanning nearly 130,000 square meters across eight floors, the museum comprises seven key functional zones — technology exhibition, science education cinema, innovation practice, technology exchange, public service, business management, and science park.
With four permanent exhibition halls and 950 innovative exhibits, the new landmark also serves as a significant hub for young learners to engage with scientific knowledge and comprehend technology's implications on life and the future.
Through museum-school partnerships and immersive digital learning, it also provides themed activities —from interactive exhibits to science performances — ensuring daily engagement and nurturing future talents.
