The agreement was signed by Hong Kong’s Department of Health and Institute of Chinese Materia Medica of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, a subsidiary organization under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The deal is expected to deepen the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides in Chinese medicine and promote the development of Chinese medicine in the two places, a spokesman for the HKSAR government said in a statement.

With the support of relevant mainland units, Hong Kong's research work on Chinese medicines has proceeded smoothly.
