Macao records first positive virus case since June

HONG KONG - The Macao Special Administrative Region reported its first coronavirus case since June Friday. 

The 43-year-old woman is the SAR's 47th recorded patient. 

The last case to be recorded in Macao was 209 days ago, on June 26, 2020

The asymptomatic patient is a Macao resident who was in Dubai and traveled to Japan via Singapore before returning to the city, the government said in a statement.

The last case to be recorded in Macao was on June 26, 2020 - 209 days ago.

The woman landed in Macao on Thursday night and subsequently tested positive for the virus. She was among 109 Macao residents flying back to the city on two Air Macau flights from Tokyo.

Eight people classified as her close contacts were quarantined. Also, her co-passengers were sent to a hotel to be quarantined for 21 days.
