HONG KONG - A customs official was found dead at the Hong Kong International Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
The official was found dead by medical staff at a changing room at the airport shortly after what sounded like a gunshot was heard, local media reported.
According to local media reports, the body bearing a gunshot wound was found at the air cargo terminal around 1 pm.
The official was reportedly shot in the temple and a gun belonging to him was found beside his body.
The Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department is yet to make a statement.
According to Xinhua, the Airport Authority confirmed the death and police said an investigation was under way.
