TIANJIN - Olympic champions Shi Tingmao and Chen Aisen showed they were the best of all as they took home victories in the women's 3m springboard and men's 10m platform respectively at the 13th Chinese National Games as the 10-day diving competition concluded on Monday.

Despite a waist injury, Shi met no strong challenges in the final and earned a total of 409.20 points. It was her second title at the Games after she earlier took the crown in the synchro event together with her partner Chang Yani.

Wang Han of Hebei came in second in 386.55 and Wu Chunting of Guangdong third in 370.05.

"It was my personal best score in my career and my best performance this year, I collected 406.50 at the Rio Olympic Games. However, I was not satisfied with myself. I would give myself 80 points overall because I made a little mistake in my last dive 5152B. I should have done better for that score," said the 26-year-old, who wrapped up titles in the individual and synchro at FINA World Swimming Championships last month.

In the final of the men's 10m platform, Chen Aisen of Guangdong joined the "600+ club" one more time as he started high and soared 14 perfect marks en route for the title with a score of 613.55.

World bronze medalist Yang Jian from Sichuan also set a record as he showed his trademark 109B, degree of difficulty 4.1, with a record-high 118.90 for his last dive and finished second in 596.10. Lian Junjie of Shandong took the bronze in 533.10. Former world champion Qiu Bo of Sichuan, who suffered from a bad start and bad ending dives, came in fourth on 526.70.

"I was excited to make my personal best. It was a new record for me. I did not expect that because the competition was very tough. I performed my best in every dive, including some unstable dives. The level of men's platform is extremely high. I just hope I can keep fighting," said the double Rio Olympic winner.

It was the third gold medal Chen won from the National Games after he claimed victory in the team and synchro event. Xie Siyi of Guangdong was another triple champion as he claimed gold medals in the team, individual and synchro springboard.
