LONDON - A mom who gave birth to her baby on a police station car park has said thank you in a special way.
Rebecca Fox decided there was only one name for his newborn son, Bobby, the colloquial name in Britain for police constables. The mom was being driven past Chiswick Police station in London when she realised her baby was about to make its entrance.
Rebecca's own mom shouted for help, and within seconds Constable Holly Foran and police staff member Jacky Brosnan were on the scene, helping the baby to be safely delivered.
Brosnan explained "I heard a lady outside shouting, so I looked out of the window and there was another younger woman in the car with her feet on the dashboard. It looked like she might be having a baby." Soon after a doctor happened to pass by, and also helped.
Brosnan added: "Rebecca said she was going to call the baby Bobby, how sweet after giving birth right outside our station. It was a beautiful start to the morning."
Both mother and baby Bobby are doing well, and visited the police station to say thank you.
The name "bobby" was introduced after police officers were introduced in London by Sir Robert "Bobby" Peel.
